About Us

AIESEC was founded in 1948, in the context of the second world war. The main idea back in time was to bring people to a common understanding, leading people to avoid engaging in conflicts because of their ethnicity, language, beliefs, or where they come from. AIESEC in Hungary was founded in 1972, where it started it’s mission to build a better Hungary: where people understand the true value of leadership and move forward building a better, open, and more inclusive society.

Since 1972, AIESEC in Hungary has been forming a legion of leaders, impacting different sectors of the society, and bringing our values to their core business and sectors. All it took back then, was the courage to take the first step, to join the organization and allow themselves to challenge others and be challenged, in a fun and engaging environment, where work and fun meet the right balance and where you learn key skills which are needed for you to become a better professional.

Discover our values and visions, and check the testimonial of the leader of each one of our local chapters and apply today to be one of the future leaders of this organization!

Local Committee BME

@lc_bme

As the second biggest local committee in Hungary, AIESEC in BME is well known for its community, the alumni, the innovative and brave mindset every member demonstrates. We’re unique in the culture of grabbing opportunities and taking responsibility, as well as representing our values. We’re working with partners, with youth from Hungary and all around the globe, from inside and outside the University. We’re always striving for the better and well, we enjoy it!

An average week

Usually all teams have a meeting, where they discuss the actualities, and spend some time together. After a meeting, it’s common to have some team time or have a talk. It’s also possible to meet other teams from the area you’re working on. Once in a month, the whole committee gathers together for a common meeting to see the progress and the achievements, and to meet everyone from the committee, including all new members, middle managers and the executive board. Besides that, there are numerous events for education, professional development, meeting foreigners, and having fun.

Why did I join?

I joined in 2017 during my first year in the university when I was looking for something extra besides my studies. I found myself in an environment where thinking globally, taking responsibility for the world and yourself are not only accepted, but also valued. I discovered and grabbed the opportunities here, I had the chance to lead a team and try myself in different areas, like marketing, HR or sales. I believe you learn the most when you face challenges, that’s why I applied for the Local Committee President position. Currently, I lead an executive board and a committee of 50 students, which is a really challenging role, but at the same time gives me the experience, development, and fun I will never forget, all in a supportive, friendly community.

Local Committee BCE

@lc_bce

The culture of AIESEC in BCE is based the four pillars of our compass which includes goal orientation, professional mindset, initiating actions and dedicated community. The dedicated community is a strong point of our entity, which helps us inside and outside of the organization and provides a network, that will be useful later in life as well. Initiating actions reminds us, that we need to take responsibility for our environment and the values we want to represent. Last but not least, goal orientation and professional mindset enables us to strive to be the best always, all the time, in order to create the best experience for our customers and members.

An average week

A regular week in AIESEC in BCE consists of a meeting and a working hour with your team, both of which are flexibly adjusted to the availability of the team members. On a regular basis we organize fun, social activities, camps ( 4 every year – where we have trainings delivered by the Executive Board and our partner companies ), and we like to participate in social work ( e.g. garbage collection and volunteering in kindergartens). Also we have Local Committee Meetings every month, which usually ends with having fun together. All in all, here you can find a mixture of professional, developing and fun events.

Why did I join AIESEC?

In 2017, when I started my university studies, I felt that I want to take responsibility for what is happening in the world, but I need an environment which can support me in this. This is how I found AIESEC, and later I also fell in love with the “professional playground”, as we call it. I could try out myself in different fields like sales and HR, but I could do it with the support of my fellow AIESECers (as we call our members). Throughout this journey, I am gaining experience in leading teams and projects, but also in coaching and performance management, and I am learning a lot about organizational development, HR management, and external relations. I think the true value of AIESEC is that you can gain experiences like this in your early 20s, while you are building a network for life. How could this be better?

An average week

At the beginning of the week every team has its weekly team meeting, then during the week every team has a working time, which is a space dedicated to achieve your goals, that you set for yourself when you join, with the help of your leader. Some weeks we have local committee meetings, where everyone is present, on other weeks we have newbie board meetings, where you can deepen your knowledge on what you do and how you are contributing to the world. Every month you will have a personal meeting with your leader to see if what you are doing is what you expected, and how is your position contributing to your development.

Why I joined AIESEC

When I came to the university I knew that I wanted to belong somewhere, and do something that matters. Luckily I found AIESEC as soon as I signed in to school, and joining changed my life in the long term. At first it was small changes here and there, skills I never knew I had, or ones I could develop a lot. Then as time went by I understood what AIESEC really does, and this gave me the power and encouragement to apply for my current position, the President of AIESEC in PSZF. Ever since I knew I wanted this position there was nothing stopping me from getting here. Applying to a position, taking more responsibilities not only makes you feel more fulfilled and successful, but it also contributes a whole lot to your own personal development.
