You are too much!

Did you know, that based on the Word Bank Group’s research, the current municipal waste generation is approximately 1.3 billion tons per year, and is expected to increase to approximately 2.2 billion tons per year by 2025. The waste per capita generation will increase to 1.42 kg per person per day.
Just think about how even one family’s waste can put a huge burden on the environment! There are many initiatives around the world to reduce these numbers. One of them, the Word Cleanup Day will happen on the 15th of September.
Join us, and let’s clean the city together!

Until then, here are some everyday tips you can implement to reduce the waste you are producing:

This is the easiest way to achieve great results. Instead of getting a new bag every time you go to the store, you should bring your own, more durable and preferably not made of plastic.

Also glass water bottles, metallic straws and your own thermos instead of one take away cup per day will make a huge difference (in your budget too)!

Collect selectively

Get to know the possibilities and rules of your city’s waste management and try to collect your waste selectively, to make recycling easier and more effective.

Plan your meals

In addition to material waste, food waste is a huge proble

m all around the world. However, it’s entirely preventable if the consumer follows one simple rule: only buy groceries that you know will eat.
It sounds like a no-brainer, but you’d be surprised at how much food is regularly thrown into the garbage.

Learn to repair rather then discard

When was the last time you repaired something broken rather than throwing it away to purchase a new one?
Can’t remember? Same.
But buying a few high-quality items and repairing them when necessary is so much better for the planet than buying loads of cheap, disposable stuff.

As you can see, these steps don’t require much of your energy or time!
Want to do even more?!

Volunteer with us and help raising awareness of these problems around the globe, help cleaning the most beautiful beaches, or educate children on the cause, enabling them to create a new, much cleaner world!

What are you waiting for?
