How much time does it take to be a member in AIESEC?

The time required to become a member of AIESEC can vary depending on the specific circumstances and the level of involvement you desire:
If you’re interested in becoming a regular member of AIESEC, you can typically join by attending their recruitment events or contacting the local chapter. Contributing as a regular member can take from 3-5 hours a week.
AIESEC also offers numerous leadership positions within its organizational structure, such as team member, team leader, local committee member, or national committee member. These positions often require a higher level of commitment and involvement. The time it takes to attain such positions can vary significantly, ranging from a few months to a year or more, depending on the local or national election cycles and the level of experience and skills required.

Do I have to be a student to be an AIESEC member?

No you don’t have to be a student in order to be an AIESEC Member, however you do need to be between 18-30 years old. What matters more is your personality, as how open and adaptable you are, and your attitude towards selfdevelopment and sustainability.

What does AIESEC provide through an exchange process?

When people choose to go on an international exchange with AIESEC, they receive 16 standards. Every internship is built around these standards which are provided by the AIESEC members for the exchange participant from the beginning until the end of the experience. The organisation is responsible for the person who is going abroad and takes care of their experience. There is a host and a home entity in the whole process so the person has two main managers who are managing their application and process, one from the home entity who is sending the person abroad and one from the host entity who is waiting for the person in that specific country the person applied to. These two main people are working in local offices which I’ve already talked about and they are responsible for all the sixteen standards. Out of the sixteen standards, four are the responsibility of the home entity and the rest goes to the host entity.
