SDG 17: Partnership for the Goals

SDG 17: Partnership for the Goals

Partnerships for the goals

As the pandemic situation had a big impact on many organizations, we in AIESEC in Hungary had to adapt and find alternative solutions to some of the hardships that came up. The most determining way to adapt is to put one of our products – called Global Volunteer – in a dormant status and start focusing on our internship product called Global Talent. Hence, creating partnerships has become a bigger focus for us, and what we have seen is that it has become a priority across the globe. Thus together we can break through the obstacles we are facing.

This is the 17th SDG which can only be realized with strong global partnerships and cooperation. While humanitarian crises are brought on by conflict, natural disasters continue to demand more financial resources and aid. Many countries also require Official Development Assistance to encourage growth and trace.

So the world is more interconnected than ever because improving access to technology and knowledge is an important way to share ideas and foster innovation. Coordinating policies is essential to help developing countries and companies to manage their debt, and promoting investment for the least developed ones is vital for sustainable development and growth.

This Sustainable Development Goal is specified to enhance the cooperation between North-South and South-South by supporting national plans to achieve all the targets. Promoting international trade, and helping developing countries increase their exports is all part of achieving a universal trading system that is fair for everyone, and benefits all countries.

The main goal is by 2030, building on existing initiatives to develop measurements of progress on sustainable development that complement the gross domestic product and support statistical capacity-building in developing countries.
