A unique experience

A unique experience

Last week we had the pleasure to ask our questions to one of our lovely AIESECer, who was an exceptional member of the organization for many years. Just like every person, she started her experience as a new member, and climbed up to a place where she was part of the main committee who led AIESEC in Hungary.

We are grateful for the things that we could learn from you, your enthusiasm, your professionalism, and we say thank you for your amazing presentations that you provided us during the years. Thus, I hope that you are just as excited as I am. Let’s find out together what her thoughts and feelings were during her journey with us.

I can imagine that you had a lot of experience during your AIESEC journey. But can you mention one, that stands out of all, something that you are really proud of?

I had the opportunity to lead several different teams/networks in AIESEC. It was truly a challenging job to learn how to support and manage them as they all needed a different approach, but in the end, seeing them making sometimes unbelievable achievements made me the proudest person ever. That’s also how I could measure my success – so I would say the best thing was to see the people around me develop and succeed.

What advice would you give for a person who just started their AIESEC experience?

Grab all your opportunities here and don’t be afraid – you have limited time to be an AIESECer, now’s the time to try yourself out in things you could have never imagined before. Trust me, it’s totally worth it!

How did your AIESEC experience contribute to becoming a better member of the current job that you are doing right now?

Currently I’m working in HR – a field I would have probably never chosen if it wasn’t for my AIESEC experience. It helped me a lot during the application process, and after I started working, I learnt a lot quicker than the people I started together with. I got my own project in my first month and I also got a lot of positive feedback from the people I work with on being practical, flexible and open-minded in my job. These I can for sure thank to AIESEC.

What was the biggest challenge that you faced in AIESEC?

Probably multitasking and responsibility. While doing university and maybe work, you also have your own projects in AIESEC, so you need to learn how to manage your time and priorities properly. It might not seem like a big deal, but later you’ll benefit a lot from it. I did for sure.
